Under the supervision of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ICE), a team from the Faculty of Information Technology won the incubation of their project within the incubators of social innovation in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, the Jordan River Foundation and UNICEF, which was announced last Thursday, December 24, 2020, after the team presented its idea to participate on December 13, 2020. The team visited the Ministry of Youth to collect their prizes.
Ministry of Youth's social innovation incubators run trainings aimed at empowering young people to create ideas and projects where the best project is won / selected, funded and followed up on its implementation.
The winning team from ASU (Women Without Borders) aims to empower Jordanian women and support them, believing in their capabilities and independence, employing technology to serve them, so that they act as a mediator between the productive women and individual consumers, promote their products throughout the Kingdom and network with the Ministry of Tourism to market products that reflect our culture and civilization in tourist areas in addition to providing courses for women in the field of handicrafts.
The team’s participation was part of achieving the tasks of the ICE Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in encouraging students to participate in competitions, workshops and trainings that would raise the level of students ’entrepreneurial skills to enable them to enter the labor market and advance the local economy.
